The Crooked House. Engraved brass with colored patina. Engraved over and over on the inside, outside, and bottom with the nursery rhyme "There was a crooked man":
There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sizpence against a crooked stile;
he bought a crooked cat which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.
The roof is unhinged and lifts off, so that it can function as a box.
This is a one-of-a-kind box, and it has sold.
